Crystal Renn Poses For Jimmy Choo (PHOTOS)

Crystal Renn has scored her first -- of what we're sure will be many -- campaign of the year, striking a pose in hot pants for Jimmy Choo Spring/Summer 2011. The "plus-size model" replaced supermodel Amber Valletta with a series of colorful ads that remind us of her Gaultier pics (lean back, pile on the accessories, forget to wear bottoms). Both were lensed by Inez and Vinoodh.

Yes, she's beautiful. Again, the problem that I find with saying she's plus-sized, however, is that now any company that uses her can say "Oooh, look at us! We're so progressive and inclusive that we use PLUS SIZED models!". When, in fact, they're using a size 6 and calling her plus. Good for you, fashion world! SUCH progress.

See all that actual thigh and curve especially in the third pic - she's still "plus" in the modeling world where "plus" means over sample size and sample size is 0-2.

She went down to what looks like a 6-8 from a 10-12 American.

In the 4-shot on the lower corner with the blue background and the shot of her mid section did you notice her stomach is convex and not concave when she leans back - also "plus sized" in model world.

She felt recovered enough from her eating disorder to start cautiously exercising again without becoming an exercise bulimic this year so she is dropping some weight but not enough to be "standard sized" 0-2 it will be interesting if they keep shooting her if she is neither "plus" to the eye or "standard" to the industry.

Why no images of the shoes as gorgeous vehicles for walking? Or is walking no longer considered a primary part of wearing shoes? Put another way, are shoes now simply expensive sexwear? How uncomfy.
