I like the first one, the rest seem to be trying a bit to hard.

If I were British I would be highly annoyed at the taxpayer money spent on this wedding when the Royals can well afford to fund it themselves.

They can't say much - they are subjects, not citizens. And a great number of them are on 'benefits' as welfare there is called.

My passport calls me a 'British Citizen'.

You really should do your homework if you expect to be taken seriously ....

Our unemployment rate is lower than yours and even the employed can recieve "benefits", although we're not a fair society we're certainly fairer than yours.

Apart from security, they are.

Who would actually want to be a member of the royal family? So much stalkerazzi, the British Tabloids are horrible.

Count me out.

Cute plates, though.

The lifestyle would make up for it - and they can't get nearly as close anymore after Di's death.

How about "I still don't have an elected head of state"?

oops meant to write that about the plates. but to respond, they do have elected head of states, PMs
12:40 AM on 01/12/2011
The PM is the head of government; the Queen's Government to be exact. The Queen is the head of state.

It was a fancy-dress party and it was meant to be an Afrika Korps uniform, except that the Afrika Korps rarely wore swastika armbands. An easy mistake to make for someone born 40 years after WWII.

What's with that "new tiara" comment? She doesn't even have an old tiara! She's a commoner but, wow & howdy, she'll have the biggest diamonds in the country now!

Yet her engagement ring is absolutely stunning! In a time of great economic upheaval, Miss Middleton and her Prince showed a great deal of class in not having yet another bauble made to adorn her finger.

Is this is jab at the Egyptians (code for Muslims, though they are not just) or at the royal intolerance?

I'd read it as a jab at poor Diana, Kitten, nothing more.

When Charles and Di married, a friend gave me a T-shirt that featured on the front a cartoon portrait of Diana with love symbols floating around her head. The back depicted photos of Charles' other girlfriends (including Camilla ... ah, the irony) with their faces x'ed out. Instead of wearing it, I framed it, and it's been hanging somewhere in my house ever since.
