Alini Brito And Cindy Mauro, Teachers Fired Over Lesbian Scandal, File Lawsuits

As James Madison High School students sat watching a school assembly in November, 2009, teachers Alini Brito and Cindy Mauro were allegedly engaging in a lesbian romp in a classroom. The interlude was broken up when janitors opened the door and discovered the pair.

The teachers, who were fired over the affair, have a very different account of the encounter. According to Brito, a diabetic, she was suffering from a bout of low blood sugar when her co-worker administered aid, the New York Post reports.

According to the Post,

"Upon immediately entering the classroom, Brito's knees buckled, at which point Brito laid down off to the right but at the foot of the classroom door. Mauro assisted Brito by placing Brito's sweater under her head and elevated her legs in a chair. Mauro also obtained a couple of suger packets from her desk and gave them to Brito," the petition says.

Brito has filed a lawsuit in Manhattan Supreme Court and is hoping to get her job back.

Cindy Mauro, the second teacher involved in the scandal, also plans to sue.

Brito says that a crucial piece of evidence in the case -- the video surveillance tape, which was destroyed by the school -- would help her prove her innocence. According to NY Daily News, Brito claims the video shows that the two custodians who claim to have witnessed the sex acts never even opened the door.

If they indeed had sex at school they deserve no sympathy or under alcohol at a school function leaving the students so they can sneak off is unprofessional (unless it was truly work related), but in their defense where is the security video ? if it will clear them then its quite strange it was destroyed what was the school hiding ? a wrongful termination perhaps .

From what the article says, it seems like it's the word of the two men against the word of the two women. Without anything else, that doesn't seem like a good enough reason to fire the teachers.

Why would the custodians lie? Why would the lie entail a sexual encounter? I don't know the truth, but the whole thing sounds bizarre.

Why would the teachers lie and go have sex in the school during an assembly?

It's very bizarre, but I don't think someone's word against someone else's like this is enough to get them both fired. Plus, the whole thing with the school destroying the tape is really weird. There's no reason to them to have been destroyed.

The fact that the school destroyed the surveillance tape indicates that there is "something wrong in the state of Denmark". The destruction of evidence in a case being adjudicated either by a court, company, school, etc, is a crime.

there is not one word about alcohol--what you are doing is reckless and unethical. they are innocent until proven guilty and you are playing telephone with their lives. what? no politically correct codes covers the rights of teachers? aren't we entitled to a little due process and decorum? one might assume you have more than a passing acquaintance with malt liguor from the way you talk.

Their explanation is totally bull.......They were at a school that was having a talent show of some sort.....I 'm sure that they had some medical staff on hand in case of problems! I don't think the tape exist it's just a ploy by two people who can't own up the fact that they did something wrong! It seems that no one wants to take personal responsibility for anything anymore.....excuses like abused as a child, not guilty by reason of insanity, and if the glove don't fit you must acquit! They're trying to intimidate the school by filing suit (in a tough economy) and stating that evidence was destroyed! Yeah right!!

hearsay. i love em, but the custodians at my school smoke weed in da halls.
i don't see them making up a story about teachers to the principal, or ratting us out for something like this. there may be someting going on with these women and it could be thier administrator is a personality disorder. not sure why custodian word trumps teachers. seems like a wash. may have to transfer, as it's a high school and all, but they should not lose thier jobs.

it's against the law to have them in classrooms without consent.
these school administrators just make up the policy are they go--it is pretty ambiguously worded. but you cannot film others without consent. it is kinda weirs a camera was in a classroom. more likely in halls, common areas, quads. this could be one kinky tale.

So the one janitor who was the ONLY one who actually saw something, didn't testify? What's up with that? The other guys just sound like they were fantasizing something that wasn't happening and now they don't want to tell the truth for fear of losing their jobs.

Why didn't the one guy who could clear it up testify? Sounds like a setup to me.

Amazing in this day and age that 2 people can say anything they want and have it believed as gospel truth just because it fits what the listeners WANT to believe.
