Glenn Beck: Obama Memorial Speech 'Best He Has Ever Given' (AUDIO)

First Posted: 01/13/11 01:15 PM ET Updated: 05/25/11 07:25 PM ET

Glenn Beck said that President Obama's speech at the memorial for the victims of the Arizona shooting was "the best speech he has ever given."

Speaking on his radio show Thursday, Beck had one caveat: Obama should have made his speech earlier.

"Last night, the president said what he should have said on Saturday," Beck said. "A leader says that on Day 1. But it is truly better late than never. This is probably the best speech he has ever given, and with all sincerity, thank you Mr. President, for becoming the president of the United States of America last night."

Back handed "compliments" are a ham-handed method of insult. He stressed the timing twice. This is Beck on a leash that is not short enough.

His sincerity is insulting. He didn't become the president on that evening. He's the president when he does something of which you approve. If he hasn't been the president, whose the Obama folks are talking about with Obamacare? People that give backhanded comments do not mean you well.

What? Glenn Beck, you just haven't been LISTENING to our President for the past two years. I appreciate your acknowledgment of the power of Obama's Tucson speech, but let's face it; your remarks are a tad bit truculent.

So. From here on out, quit the inflammatory & senseless comments (such as "Obama's a racist and doesn't like white people") and really pay attention to our President's accomplishments and mandates. Examine in what way you may have contributed to the Tucson tragedy.

Better yet, do America a favor and go away. Get off the air altogether; you are a waste of airtime.

Hi. You are absolutely right. (The only other speech that might contend for his best was his initial speech about Reverent Wright in the campaign.) And, you are absolutely right that he became Presidential. I am not a GB fan at all, but if you functioned at this level rather than the right wing fanatic, you could be a very important commentator for our country.

For the first time in my adult life I'm almost proud of Glenn Beck.

NO! Here's the smoke screen. Everyone in a majority knows the pres speech was appropriate if not good to say the least...bottomline. No intentional grandstand for politic points sought after. Thats obivous because there is a story that the cons call it a "rally"! No, beck had two choices. 1. he could of remained silent and in face of a good, heartfelt and sincere gesture to come to AZ. He would of looked bad and even worst to say something negative. 2. However, he did decide to say something and even make some jabs at the same time.
Clearly beck thought what was the lesser of two evil! His genuine hatred for the left shows in the fact he can't even utter true appreciation and sincerity without holding to his base. When the all the smoke clears you'll see beck back at. Wait, wait for it...! Its coming on the airwave before you know it..or I guess you already know it! LOL

What does Glenn Beck know about United anything? He and his pal Sarah Palin are the two most divisive characters in the public eye since I can remember. And why should the President have said this on day 1? This isn't some political ploy (again with a nod towards Beck's friend) but he took his rightful place at a memorial service. Thank you, Mr. Beck for your thumbs up now you are free to return to the black hole that people like you live in.

"thank you Mr. President, for becoming the president of the United States of America last night.""

This proves it all! Beck has been living in a case. He had no idea that Obama became the President in 2009. To use Beck's on words: "But it is truly better late than never."

Well, let's start with the first part. The man has no sincerity. Next, no brain or clue. Shhh... Glenn let me tell you a secret... Come closer... Closer... THE GUY WAS THE FREAKIN' PRESIDENT THE WHOLE LAST TWO YEARS YOU INCREDIBLE MORON!!!!

this fact shows that some republicans and Fox people are able to recognize when something is well done, and they are not afraid to express their opinion, that this time happen to be positive.
Even Bill O' Really praise Obama for the good speech.
They don't always are against the democrats and the President.

They are always against the President. It is easy enough to acknowledge that an opponent plays well. The fundamental problem with Mr. Beck is that he did not do a self examination after hearing the speech and dedicate himself to making a change. The "Fox people" need to ratchet back the "anti-" rhetoric in response to speech not just play critic.

There was nothing to win going against it. This was all about emotion and not politics. But show me one piece of legislation the GOP/FOX stood behind rock steady together with the president and I believe you.
