Adrian Peterson Gets McDonalds Employee Fired By Using Bathroom

An assistant manager at a McDonald's in Minnesota was reportedly fired for letting Vikings running back Adrian Peterson use the bathroom after hours.

According to Chris Morran of The Consumerist, the female employee was working the late shift and "noticed a man standing at the drive-thru window" around 3 a.m. It happened to be Peterson and he asked to use the bathroom.

The woman noticed he was an NFL star and let him use the facilities. The mother of three was fired later that week.

"He's a public figure... I know him better than some of the maintenance people that come in and out," she explained. "I never thought in a million years that that decision was going to cost me my career."

However, after the media reported the story, McDonald's offered the woman her job back.

Leave alone McDonald's offering her her job back, why did she have to be fired in the first? The story doesn't indicate what the actual issue is, and I don't believe using facilities is grounds to sack an employee. If this story wasn't covered would the Mac have offered the job? Their policies need relooking, with humanity one of the chief items to be included.

Same reason my wife was fired from a place once. My wife had a computer problem and let me (a professional computer engineer) behind the counter to help her for a second when I stopped in to say hi.

It puts the company at a security risk letting a guy in even if you know them where they aren't supposed to be... she let a non-employee into the store after hours: screams potential robbery.

I wonder what McDonalds would have done had he taken a dump in their drive-thru - and found out she refused to let him in to use the facilities.

But aside the fact he is a famous football player. This situation could have had a bad result. He may have been any guy looking to see who was working, ask if he can use bathroom, them rob the place, rape her or even worse. Management was right in letting her go.

You're absolutely right! Just because a guy makes multiple millions per year is no reason to assume that he's not lurking around with the intent to knock over a MacDonalds; those guys are well known for their violent natures. (I'm sure you know which guys I mean).

The average assistant manager at McDonalds makes $29,000. Hmm. Interesting I think she should be careful. While in this situation nothing happened, opening the door can lead to a bad situations and even athletes arent immune from being potentially dangerous Still glad she got her job back. the franchise owner overreacted.

I think it is a little much to fire the lady, so I'm glad she got her job back. What troubles me is Peterson being in a situation where he needs to use a McDonalds bathroom at 3:00 a.m. No good can come from that, especially for these NFL players who are targets for all sorts of nonsense when they go out.

First, I want to say, I don't believe McDonalds should have fired the employee but I think the employee needs to realize that not everyone is honest about their intentions and by no means am i saying that Mr Petterson wanted to commit a crime but you truly never know what peoples intentions are. Security protocals are their for a very good reason. She should follow them for her own protection.

You think that might be just a little rigid? It's Minnesota, she recognized him, she let him take a squirt, it's called common decency and it's something that our society is currently lacking in. She's a mother of 3, working the night shift, earning an honest living. At most she gets reprimanded. The world isn't black and white. It's 10% white, 10% black and 80% grey and don't panic, I'm not talking about skin color.

I don't think so. Once the doors are locked, you are not allowed to let anyone in the store. These polices are put in place to protect the employees.
