While this is indeed a wonderful tribute, I wish she did not have to donate her organs. In other words, I wish she were still here. RIP baby girl. You were far too good for this world.

This girl is a superhero in every sense of the word. Not even the evil deeds of a mad man can stop this girl from bringing the light and taking names ! !

Sweet news that Christina will always be alive and well in another ones body. :-)

Just think - those organs would have gone to waste under Jan Brewer's tutelage. She's saving her taxpayers $1.4 million per year to scrap the AZ program.

I am moved to tears in a way that no previous news on this tragedy has been able to stimulate. What a beautiful, wonderful thing for Christina's family to do --- extend the life of another child as a living tribute to this beautiful little girl.

Last August, my oldest son Patrick died from complications due to a heart attack that resulted in a motor vehicle accident that also almost killed one of his brothers. This whole tragedy has brought back memories of the four months leading up to Patrick's death: like Gabrielle Giffords, he was in a medically-induced coma, then emerged from it. He actually died of a second heart attack while undergoing physical therapy --- I was with him when he passed away.

Patrick, who led a troubled life, had weakened his body through years of heavy drinking and smoking. When we discussed organ donation, we were informed that most of his organs were not suitable for donation.

I am so glad that Christina's parents have the comfort of knowing that her physical life will continue through another child, thanks to this caring and responsible gift of organ donation.

Wonderful - this story should be one of the headlines in every paper and on every website in the country. "Hope springs eternal" and lives on.

What a generous act in such a senseless tragedy. Bless her family. But I'd appreciate some journalism here. The circumstances of poor little Christina's death, as reported in today's NYTimes, would disqualify her from organ donation. Likely they could recover some of her tissues (bone, skin, vein) and corneas--all life-enhancing gifts, to be sure. Very unlikely did they recover her lifesaving organs (kidneys, pancreas, liver, heart, lungs) for transplant. The truth is important. The public should not be led to believe we get organs for transplant from emergency rooms. One must suffer a peculiar kind of brain death to be an eligible donor, and that's why the supply cannot meet the demand. The sooner we face this challenge, the sooner we can improve our transplant system.

A very admirable deed, to find the courage to be altruistic at time of a heavy personal loss, shows great strength of character.

The Green family has earned everyone's respect.

That little Christina Green is an angel in flesh...STILL. This makes me joyful for Christina, as a youngster with such an avid interest in public service, her legacy continues. What a honor for the recipient. I'm glad we still have her in some form here on our planet. Be still my heart.

This poor baby and her poor parents! I hope that it gives her parents comfort to know that part of her lives on and their grief won't be shared by another child's parents. May God bless all of them.
