Wes Welker Press Conference Drops Feet Puns For Rex Ryan (VIDEO)

Wes Welker Press Conference

Wes Welker used a Thursday press conference to rip New York Jets head coach Rex Ryan over his apparent foot fetish.

The Jets, specifically Ryan and Antonio Cromartie, have been trash talking New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady the last two weeks, and Welker returned the favor. He made 11 "foot" references in all.

"These are the games you play for. What you spend all year getting ready for and you just want to put your best foot forward," Welker said with a straight face.

He also said that Jets cornerback Darrelle Revis and Patriots teammate Deion Branch have "great feet."

Although it's not a certainty that the Patriots receiver was taking shots at Ryan's foot fetish, evidence strongly suggests that his words were intentional.

Should have benched him the entire game and played Brandon Tate, a faster receiver who could beat Revis down the field!

Could someone explain to me; Why can the Jets not learn
Every time they're talking trash they seem to crash and burn?
And how come New York can't seem to leave the Pats alone?
Why is it Rex Ryan always has to bitch and moan?

You don't hear Bill Belichick or his team talking trash.
No. They only praise opponents, then go out and thrash
Anyone who's called them names. They beat them on the field.
Punishment inflicted by the score - not words they wield.

Well, except for Welker... 'though he said the Jets are great
In his pre-game conference (while keeping his face straight)
Mentioned feet eleven times - a Ryan fetish tease.
Maybe next time Rex will stop the foot "in" mouth disease.

There's no need to call us names. It's only 'cause we're good
Other people do not give the credit that they should.
We'll just have to wait and see but, judging by the stats,
New York better watch out for the P! A! T! S! Pats!

Lame. HuffPost should know better than to mislead readers and waste eyeballs on that kind of poorly contrived, badly executed nonsense. If you must, at least have the good sense not to present it as news.

Then just don't read it. Or did you know about Rex Ryan's foot fetish and why this was clever?

Dude, unclench a little. That was hilarious. And for the record, it was extraordinarily well-executed. Kind of expected Welker to heel after the fifth reference or so, but he jumped in with both feet.
