The couch, the drapes, the beige disasters. Variations on a prom dress. The posture, that makes even the best dress look like a sack.
I see more elegance in Rajasthani peasant dress, Ghanaian adinkra patterns, Vietnamese Ao Dais.

sandra bullock was probably THE best dressed of the evening. from the fab dress to the funky braclet to match to the smokey rocker come hither flirty bangs, she plays the mysterious tease flawlessly. I can only think people have her so pigeonholed they can't hack her totally taking off the nice girl-mom shoes and getting sultry for the evening. she was flawless.

I think Milia Jovovich looks lovely! Most of these women looked fine. Fox looks too skinny and a little off but shes not awful. As for Helena Carter if it were anyone else I would be getting my hate on but SHE can carry this off.

Okay a few of these I'll grant are textile train wrecks, but many of these dresses are elegant to my eye. Perhaps I have no taste, but I just can't see the flaw I am meant to see in them.

Most of these dresses shouldn't be on the list. Sandra Bullock looked amazing! Poor Julianne Moore was the worst - what a horribly fitting dress. Fire your stylist!

Helena Bonham Carter cannot be put in this category because she is quirky and i love her for that. Sorry that some of the gowns weren't bad at all. I thought some of the gowns were classic and beautiful. Julia Stiles looked beautiful

Mucho money and stylists do not necessarily a good look make. Brava to Helena Bonham Carter for marching to her own drummer. After all, it's fashion, not brain surgery. They and their ubiquitous stylists should also know that the latest fashion does not flatter every figure, indeed, sometimes ANY figure. And be original, damnit!
