Sarah Palin 'Battle Hymn' Recorded As Tribute (VIDEO)

First Posted: 01/17/11 03:00 PM ET   Updated: 05/25/11 07:25 PM ET

Supporters of Sarah Palin have recorded a tribute song set to the tune of the famous Civil War-era 'Battle Hymn of the Republic.'

The 'Sarah Palin Battle Hymn' -- which was posted on YouTube last October but was being passed around Twitter on Monday -- was written by Tom Dempsey and sung by Gary Mcvay, according to credits posted on YouTube. It appears to have been performed in a church.

Check it out below, along with a few other musical tributes we found dedicated to the former governor of Alaska.

"Wherever they [Washington] gave us something they always wanted something back."

Alaska has received $3,145 per capita in federal stimulus dollars - the most in the nation.

So I guess, yes, the rest of the states would like a little fairness back.

My favorite by this duo is their salute to Speaker Boehner, "Mr. Tangerine Man", from their Bob Dylan tribute cd.

I am not okay with my tax dollars paying for the mic, the stage, the podium, the building... through their tax exempt status. It is getting to be quite a trend. This church in Montana has been praying for the president to die, for Gods vengeance to come to enemies, taking oaths to the death to fight against the flat tax and way worse. All with our tax payer money. All of these churches should be reported. You can see one example here with more on the channel:

There is also a website documenting the violations and other dangerous statements here:

actually, your tax dollars are not paying for the church or equipment - the government does not fund churches. They raise that money on their own. Tax-exempt means they don't have to pay certain taxes on the income they raise. don't confuse yourself or others - the feds are not funding these churches!

Not raising income from property taxes, income taxes, etc costs the taxpayer money. If the churchs involved were political headquarters, militia bases, private business's, or homes then they would pay taxes. When you turn a church into a political force then they need to pay taxes. That is why the law exists. Not to mention faith based definitive laws that DO fund churches. If we are not funding them then they will have no problem paying the same taxes as everyone else or if we give tax exempt status to the DNC or RNC. Can't have it both ways. Bottom line they are committing tax fraud.
