French Girl Winnie The Pooh

The Huffington Post   First Posted: 01/18/11 01:27 PM ET Updated: 05/25/11 07:25 PM ET

Children are loud, expensive and always getting into trouble. They can also be magical, as evidenced by this incredibly adorable young French girl breathlessly narrating the immortal story "Winnie the Pooh."

The wonder in her voice is palpable as she recounts the animals, the magic, the fights and plot twists. Also, she's speaking French, and little kids speaking French are irresistible.

She is smarter than most American kids....since we are 25th in the world or no where close to being number 1 in math, science, english, social sciences, you name it.

If language tapes were recorded by articulate and expressive little girls like this, it would be a lot easier to learn.

What a receptive little girl. when i was her age, i would have never been able to read between the lines of Winnie the pooh to grasp the rich and vibrant dramas that play out in the background of such a great A. A. Milne literary work... or maybe she just has a great imagination as the title suggests. either way tres bien petite fille tres bien!

I noticed the mother (I assume) never interrupted or asked condescending/intrusive questions; just an encouragement now and then, and that little one's imagination roamed free.

What is obvious, no matter what the language, is that this little girl is read to ALOT. Wonderful.

Very cute, very cute.

However, I hope sometthing was lost in translation, because her retailing of the French version of Winnie the Pooh scared the heck out of me.
