Jon Stewart To Peter Bergen: We're Never Leaving Afghanistan (VIDEO)

Last night on his show Jon Stewart asked CNN's national security analyst Peter Bergen if the current war in Afghanistan is the longest in America's history. Bergen, author of the new book "The Longest War: The Enduring Conflict Between America and al-Qaeda," told him that yes, "As a matter of fact, it is the longest war."

Bergen continued to tell Stewart, "I think we'll be in Afghanistan for as long as we've been in South Korea"

Stewart responded, "So, we're never leaving ..."

The two chatted about war in the Middle East and America's involvement in conflicts abroad. Bergen's new book provides an analysis of America's relationship with al-Qaeda, including its response to the attacks of 9/11.

That was probably the best, most informative, and justifiable explanation for the US involvement in the Middle East that I have seen. (Whether I agree with it or not is immaterial)

Why can a program on the Comedy Network make this point, when the administration can't?

Only one party is allowed in America. It has two different names and tries to appeal to two different outlooks and sentiments but it's just one party.
