Lyndon Johnson Orders Pants With Roomy Crotch, Belches (AUDIO)

Today in TMI: a study in how Lyndon Johnson likes hit pants to fit. Put This On came across a highly real 1964 recording of the former president ordering custom-made pants from Haggar clothing company and enlisted animator Tawd Dorenfeld to illustrate the situation.

Johnson remarks, "The crotch down where your nuts hang is always a little too tight, so when you make 'em up, give me an inch so I can take 'em out there because they cut me, it's like riding a wire fence." Yikes! He also burps and employs the word "bunghole."

BOBBY Baker, LBJ's press sec., said he was hung like a horse. He said LBJ would relieve himself @ his ranch and only turn 3/4's of the way around so the press could see his endowment. Baker also said he was way more of a ladies man than JFK. Who Knew?

I saw Doris Kearns Goodwin talk about him once. (She's a brilliant public speaker.) She used to work for him and said he was (in addition to many fine attributes) quite "coarse".

Could we just leave it to this person's opinion that he was coarse? It doesn't add to our history in a meaningful way. Wish we could leave our leaders personal life alone. I doubt Obama's flip flops will alter history in any way.

I remember reading about the secret lives of presidents on Mental Floss (there is even a book). I find this stuff amusing, it makes people in positions of power more human (provided they aren't a complete jerk).
