While the frigid weather compels many Chicagoans to stay inside, the new Fire and Ice winter patio at Vertigo Sky Lounge makes leaving the house worthwhile.

Vertigo Sky Lounge gives sun-starved Chicagoans an opportunity to take in the views with its new winter patio located on the 26th floor of the luxury Dana Hotel and Spa.

"With the Fire and Ice winter patio, we offer a truly unique experience that forces guests to forego pre-conceived notions of Chicago winter," Vertigo Sky Lounge General Manager Matt McCahill said. "We are giving people an opportunity to drink, socialize, and take in breathtaking views like never before."

The customized ice bar can't be missed on the 1,000 square foot patio. The bar serves a sizzling of "fire shots" such as the Cookie Monster, Flaming Dr Pepper or Vertigo's Flaming Irishman.

If the shots don't keep you warm enough, grab a seat by the crystallized fire pit and put on one of the patio's signature maroon robes or fur blankets.

The Fire and Ice winter patio had its grand opening Friday, January 14 with flame spitters, ice sculptures, and more. You can visit the winter patio every night until midnight.
