Royal Wedding: 100 Days Until The Big Event

With 100 Days Until The Big Day, London Hotel Bookings Jump

Hotels across London are booking up fast for the biggest event in Britain since perhaps Diana and Charles' wedding in 1981. The royal wedding is just 100 days away and bookings for hotels across London have jumped some 40%, according to the Daily Mail.

Hotels along the wedding route are seeing bookings rise the fastest, with some 1,000 new rooms and 3 hotels opening in time for the wedding.

While flight bookings into London on Monday, April 25th are up, a British Airways spokesman told the Daily Mail he's not sure he can attribute the increase solely to the royal wedding, as Easter and other holiday breaks are around that time. That airline, however, has a special royal wedding package with prices starting at $865 for the royal wedding "weekend."

The wedding route will leave from Westminster Abbey and take the newlyweds around Parliament Square, Whitehall, Horse Guards Parade and The Mall before heading into Buckingham Palace.

When Diana and Charles got married, 600,000 people came to London for the nuptials. From these numbers, it seems William & Kate's marriage will attract an even bigger crowd.
