How Different Are Israel and Palestine Really? Ben Sheehan Explores The Conflict In Song (VIDEO)

First Posted: 01/20/11 06:20 PM ET Updated: 05/25/11 07:25 PM ET

According to conventional wisdom (and most talk show hosts) there's no reconciling the bitter differences between Israelis and Palestinians. But in the newest music video by Ben Sheehan, whose previous works include Global Warming's Good For You and Sarah Palin I'm In Love With You, we learn that the two actually have a lot in common. Executive produced by OneVoice Movement, the tongue-in-cheek song "aims to unite moderate Israelis and Palestinians on a two-state solution."

Very similar peoples with similar needs and desires in life, both cursed by idiotic leadership that will be without roles if there ever is peace.

Cute,

But Israelis and Palestinians are a world apart. They may seem the same to those who are not Israeli or Palestinians, but any Palestinian or Israeli know the difference instantly.

It's soooo cute that the Muslims and Jews don't think that Christians have a stake in Jerusalem. How about a three state solution?

As you may know many Arabs are Christians.

The two state solution refers more properly to Arab and Jewish states.

Much more "too bad"

1 Israeli is being held prisoner by Palestinians and 5,935 Palestinians are currently imprisoned by Israel-most all for resisting the Military Occupation.

124 Israeli children have been killed by Palestinians and 1,452 Palestinian children have been killed by Israelis since September 29, 2000.

1,084 Israelis and at least 6,430 Palestinians have been killed since September 29, 2000.

9,075 Israelis and 41,394 Palestinians have been injured since September 29, 2000.

Israel has been targeted by at least 65 UN resolutions and the Palestinians have been targeted by none.

0 Israeli homes have been demolished by Palestinians and 24,813 Palestinian homes have been demolished by Israel since 1967.

The Israeli unemployment rate is 6.4%, while the Palestinian unemployment in the West Bank is 16.5% and 40% in Gaza.

Israel currently has 236 Jewish-only settlements and ‘outposts’ built on confiscated Palestinian land. Palestinians do not have any settlements on Israeli land.

During Fiscal Year 2009, the U.S. is providing Israel with at least $8.2 million per day in military aid and $0 in military aid to the Palestinians.

So what do you mean to say?
We all know that Israel behaves in orderly fashioned way and that the Palestinian Arabs are the bad guys. Anyway, thank you for reminding

Before 'civilized' men carved up the so called holy land Jews, Muslims and Christians had lived as good neighbors under a British Occupation.

Many of the people of the land can, do and want to get along-but it is Government policies fueled by ideologies of superiority and the denial of equal human rights for all which is the root of the 6+ decades of violent conflict.

The universally understood definition of insanity is to persist in the same behavior while expecting a different result.

Ancient prophets often used humor to wake up their audience and make their points-here's hoping OneVoice will speed the day when the so called holy land is whole and all the people have equal human rights.

I enjoyed this. OneVoice works so hard to promote peace and dialogue and honest discussion.

Good job

Tim Minchin did a similar song

Peace One Day.

I've never been too thrilled with PC comedy. Don't get me wrong, I think the sons of Abraham should be at peace, nor am I a warmongering neocon.

I just find some of this so PC and cheesy.

I don't know, it's just to cliche for me.

Mostly superficial nonsense.

You guys should check out the israeli band Orphaned land, they sing about peace between Jews and Muslims. They are middle eastern folk metal.
