National Penguin Awareness Day: PHOTOS Of Penguins

It's that time of year again: National Penguin Awareness Day is today, Jan. 20, 2011.

The annual event is the perfect opportunity to celebrate the penguin. There are many species of penguins, some of which are threatened by climate change, making the Awareness Day even more important.

It's easy to celebrate National Penguin Awareness Day and share it with those you love. Check out these ideas to celebrate the day, including wearing black and white, sending a Penguin Day e-card, replacing your desktop with penguin pictures, or forwarding penguin pictures to your friends.

I used to make fun of penguins, then I saw March of the Penguins. Since then, they have my unwavering respect and admiration. If, as Obama said, in the end all that matters is how well we loved, I'm sure heaven is full of penguins!
