Jon Stewart Invites Glenn Beck To 'The Daily Show' (VIDEO)

Just a day after he invited Sarah Palin to appear on "The Daily Show," Wednesday night Jon Stewart extended the invitation to Fox News host Glenn Beck.

Stewart was surprised when he saw Glenn Beck's controversial "Today Show" interview, particularly after Meredith Vieira asked him if he had contributed to the dialogue of hatred on his show. His response? That he wasn't when he was joking, and that Vieira should "Ask Jon Stewart. Ask 'The Simpsons'" what he was talking about.

"I think Glenn Beck thinks I'm a cartoon character!" Stewart said before telling Beck directly that there is an open invitation for him to appear on "The Daily Show."

"Glenn, here's the thing my man. You don't have to tell Meredith Veira to ask me!" He said. "Glenn beck, I would like you to be on our show."

What would that segment be called? "Drop A Load On Jon Stewart" and "Two Established Television Personalities Penetrate Each Other While People Watch" were two ideas thanks to Stewart's constantly malfunctioning chyrons.

To sweeten the deal, Stewart appealed to Beck's love of chalkboard and presented a five-pronged chalk holder with different colored chalks all ready to go for him.

"Just think: you could connect FIVE people to George Soros!"

Glenn Beck won't do the Daily show. I wish he would though. I would love to see the "I'm not your monkey Tucker" Jon Stewart again. Stewart's show is one of the best on TV, and even though it isn't news it seems to hit the heart of things better than "real news". Beck knows he would get owned, Palin too. If I were a method actor then all I would need to think of to laugh would be Stewart riffing on Beck's "Puppet Master" bit, which was funnier unintentionally than most comedy bits.

Beck's scary, and Jon Stewart is the person who to me represents me and the America I want to live in. Stewart for President 2016!!!

Jon, maybe if you called Glen duh on his magic red phone? He can't wait for it to ring.

O'Reilly will go on because it's all a game to him and he's just a player. But Beck thinks he has a special calling direct from God.
05:14 PM on 03/08/2011
And Stewart v. O'Reilly is great TV. O'Reilly knows that. Also O'Reilly will debate anyone anywhere, as long as he can plug anyone of his 7564 books.

Beck loses in debates...to O'Reilly. http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2011/02/12/bill-oreilly-beck-egypt-no-evidence_n_822343.html Jon Stewart wouldn't even need to try. Beck knows that.

I don't think that Beck will go onto the Daily Show because he would have to answer hard questions. He might even have to provide some proof of his many allegations. Plus, I think he knows that Stewart would absolutely skewer him on his many made-up associations and allegations. And on top of that, I don't think he has the guts ti do it.

Stewart has William Kristal on his show, too often for my tastes, but he doesn't take him to task for any of the truly absurd things Kristal says does he? Would he go after Beck if Beck agreed to come on his show? I doubt it.

People like Sarah Palin and Glenn Beck only do soft interviews, they fear having to answer questions from someone as intelligent as Jon is. So please Jon, do not hold your breath waiting to hear from either of them!

I have an idea though, a campaign calling them out as too scared to face Jon, maybe they will have to in order to save face. Anybody got any ideas on how to do that? This old lady ain't too savvy about those kinds of things.

Beck's just proven himself incapable of facing a 78 year old widow, instead calling on his horde of sicko-phant followers to take her out for him.
Where would he get the ballz to appear on Stewart's show for a good skewering?

I doubt if the campaign would work. They would do all their rebuttal from Faux Studios.

So true, it was just a thought, something Beck and Palin know nothing about.

Jon only uses a chalkboard when he is making fun of Glenn.

Beck should absolutely go on the Daily Show. And I think there is a good chance he will. The guy is too much of a megalomaniac not to go on the show.
11:50 AM on 01/21/2011
OK...so if you're a guest on the Daily Show, that meakes you a megalomaniac? Hey...wasn't Obama a guest on the Daily Show?
12:48 PM on 01/21/2011
Read again, my dear, what I said was that Beck is too much of a megalomaniac not to go on the show. Not that it is a requirement of all guests to be megalomaniacs. It's likely not a difficult choice for people to go on the show. But when you get tv personalities that have such differing views, there would probably be a lot of internal conflict in the decision whether or not to come on Jon Stewart. (heh.) So I'm thinking that given his ego, Beck would probably lean toward the yes column and get some more of that spotlight that he loves so dearly.

Did that clear it up, or should I draw it out on a chalkboard so you can follow better?

Flunked grammar HOW many times?
At no point was any other guest than Beck referred to as a megalomaniac.
But you just proved most of the hypotheses out there about the 50 and under IQ levels of Beck's fanboys.

I doubt very much Beck will make an appearance. Jim Cramer still paralized after being torn apart on The Daily Show.
Unless - Jon Stewart goes into meek mode, like he always does when O'Reilly is there. I never understood the dissonance between Stewart ripping Bill open regularly in segments, and inviting him on personally and then pusssyfooting around those same subjects.
11:51 AM on 01/21/2011
I think they actually like/respect each other somewhat. They always seem to cross guest on each others shows within a week or so of each other

What on earth would Stewart have to be respectful of Beck FOR? Glenn's never done anything to deserve respect from ANYONE.

Dear Mr. Beck,

Are you going to come on Jon Stewart?

He is inviting you.

He should go on The Daily Show. I think it would be great television. Then Jon Stewart could go on his show. As much a I dislike Bill O'Reilly, at least he's not afraid to go on Jon or Stephen Colbert's show. Mr. Beck, you should go on there and have fun. You, too, Sarah. It might actually help humanize both of you. I can see a sketch where you and Jon are both using chalkboards. It would be called dueling chalkboards. You make your point and he makes his point. It would be a blast. You definitely should do it.
