Rudy Giuliani: The Door Is 'Absolutely' Open On 2012 Presidential Run (VIDEO)

Former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani dabbled in 2012 presidential speculation again Thursday evening, saying that he was "absolutely" considering another run for the nation's highest office.

"I will take a look at 2012. It's really a question of, can I play a useful role? Would I have a chance of getting the nomination? Those are things that I'll have to evaluate as the year goes along," Giuliani said on CNBC's "The Kudlow Report."

Giuliani performed strongly as a candidate in the 2008 GOP primary, all the way up until the crucial New Hampshire contest. After bombarding the state with publicity appearances and turning up strong numbers in early state polls, the former mayor eventually finished as a relative non-factor.

The New York Post reported earlier this month that Giuliani was preparing a political team to probe another potential shot at the White House. According to the The Post's sources, his preliminary moves were driven by egoism and a desire to return to relevance on the national scale, but Giuliani himself quickly denied that he was making any 2012 arrangements.
