Elton John, 'Glee' Star Matthew Morrison Duet

Elton John Matthew Morrison

Elton John was filled with 'Glee' to do this duet.

Speaking at his Wednesday gay marriage fundraising gala, John touched on the recent work he did with 'Glee' star Matthew Morrison on his upcoming solo album.

"I just did it! It's a duet. It's great, really fantastic. He sings great on it," he told Parade Magazine. "It's a medley of 'Mona Lisas and Madhatters' going into 'Rocket Man.' I did it on Monday."

John had spoken in October of his plans to do the project with Morrison, who attended the Wednesday soiree.

"I'm supposed to be doing something with Matthew Morrison for his album," the singer told Entertainment Weekly in October. "[Matthew and I] had a little meeting together, so hopefully that's going to happen when I get to L.A."

No word yet on whether the high school glee club show will cover one of his songs, but John was enthusiastic about that possibility, too.

Morrison's solo album will be released in February.

Really love the old Elton singer-songwriter period songs like "mona lisa". Funny how the good stuff from that era still holds together 30 yrs later. Having the Glee gang do a show with his old material would be great.

I wish someone would put Elton John and "Glee" out of our collective misery. John, who wh0res his services out to whoever is paying (who next? The Grand Dragon of the KKK?) and "Glee" which is like raking fingernails down a chalkboard every time I see anything about it. Go away! I'm putting John on my Time To OD List behind Courtney Love.

Elton John, Betty White, and Angelina Jolie are suffering from overexposure..take a break, kids. I would include the Kardashians but they aren't performers, they are pop culture vampires.

Elton John shall forever be known as an Icon for self-hating gay people
as he played for 4 HOURS for $1million at RUSH LIMBAUGH'S WEDDING!

That truly was disgusting and one for the history books as a sign of our times.

Elton John has, for many years, had a policy of playing for ANYONE who is willing to donate $1 million to his Aids Foundation. I find it disgusting that people like you are so intent on bashing EJ for this. $1 million goes a long way toward helping people with AIDS. Have you contributed millions of dollars for AIDS research and to help people living with AIDS? I didn't think so.

I think Elton could have refused Rush Limbaugh's offer on principle and then donated $1 million of his own money in place of what Limbaugh would have paid. It's simply inexcusable to perform at the wedding of a hatemonger who does so much damage to the discourse in this country. I love Elton John's music, but he made a mistake here.

He clearly does not hate himself. I think demanding respect and equality while treating others with hate for their opinions is disgusting.

Wow, you need to do something about your HATE problem. EJ stopped the drugging and drinking a long time ago. Maybe you should too!

Glee is a terrible show. Prime time TV is nothing but song and dance competitions or Glee, which is a show about song and dance competitions. I'd rather watch Bill O'Reilly.

The big deal about Glee is the music, dance, social issues, and frankly some hilarious scripts coupled with serious stuff.  Singing is such a strong medium for expression.  Same with dance.  Maybe instead of shouting at each other insisting the other is always wrong, we should be breaking out in song and dance and putting some levity on the issues.  Glee isn't about promoting hate, but recognizing it is there with everybody grappling with hate at some level and figuring out how to change that hate to tolerance and in some cases reversal of that hate.

I love Elton.  He has always been one of my favorite song writers and entertainers.  I might not always agree with him on social issues, but he is entitled to his opinion and I am entitled to disagree, but still warmly embrace his amazing talent.  Equally Matthew is so amazing.  They both just warm my heart.

I still haven't figured out what the big deal is about Glee.

I still haven't forgiven him for performing at Limbaugh's wedding.

You haven't forgiven him for raising $1 million for his Aids foundation? How much have you raised for AIDS?

Not that much to be sure. I did direct a production of Larry Kramer's "Destiny of Me" while in college that raised money for Equity Fights Aids...of course I didn't do it at a klan rally though.

Can't wait to hear that! "Mona Lisas and Mad Hatters" is one of my all-time EJ faves.
