Cameron tells EW, "I am in the process of writing the next two Avatar films now. We are planning to shoot them together and post them together, and we will probably release them not quite back to back, but about a year apart. Christmas '14 and '15 is the current plan.

For the AEECH PEE to omit the fact that cameron only agreed to ,ore avatars only if fox anteed up big bucks for enviro causes should have been the lead to this story and not buried in the jump.

The fact that part of the deal is that FOX has to donate to environmental causes is so sweet. It's like getting to watch Rushbo chew glass.

GREAT! But why wasn't there a sequel to Titanic.... I wanna know what became of Rose after she threw the necklace in the ocean. LOL!

Yeah, Yeah, Yeah...

I know it's the trendy thing to hate on "AVATAR".
But you can't deny its impact.

Yeah.
The story has basically been recycled.
But technologically, the film is a stunning achievement on so many levels.
It's what going to the movies has always been about.

Personally, I don't feel the need for any sequels.
The film should stand on its own.
But in the end,
Cameron will have me in a seat in both 2014 & 2015.

Provided the world doesn't end in 2012.

i agree with you completely - nothing original about the story, but i believe it's a story that *should* be told over and over again.

All the more reason to make 25 consecutively declining in quality sequels, right?

truly one of the worst blockbuster movies ever made....horrible plot...wooden characters...stolen plots from other movies...awful dialogue... embarrassing movie from a great director that made terminator, alien, true lies etc....

An expensive cartoon with cardboard characters and a story that was told better 25 or 30 iterations ago.

I can hardly wait. Avatwo. I'll be interested if Cameron maintains the same level of sophistication. Since the Giovanni Ribisi character was imprisoned at the end of the first one I wonder if they'll bring him back, or save on star salary by just bringing in clips of Snidley Whiplash from the old Dudley Doright cartoons.

I suppose I'm in the minority here, but I'm looking forward to the next two movies. Some people have complained about how unoriginal the script is, but the story was able to translate well around the world. The story of rebirth and redemption are universal themes that never get old.

One of the worst movies I have ever watched.

Great special effects, horrible acting, paper thin plot, stupid stereotypes, horrible grasp of basic physics, and so on.

well there was a disney's Pocahontas 2 - so they can just take the plot, characters and situations from that like they did the first film.

Applaud the message but thought movie was way, way over-hyped. Great special effects and....
Just leave at that I guess.

I like the message but not this movie. Wasn't this just Pocahontas on another planet?
