Charles Woodson To Obama: 'We're Going To See Him' (VIDEO)

First Posted: 01/24/11 01:52 PM ET Updated: 05/25/11 07:25 PM ET

After the Green Bay Packers' 21-14 victory over the Chicago Bears in Sunday's NFC Championship game, Packers safety Charles Woodson called out President Barack Obama.

"The president don't want to come watch us at the Super Bowl, guess what?" Woodson said in a postgame speech. "We're going to see him."

Last week, Obama said he would attend the Super Bowl if the Bears beat the Packers in the NFC title game.

At the end of the speech, the Packers players broke out into a cheer of "White House!"

I searched to see if this ebonics speaking NFLer had an actual degree from the time he "spent" at college. No luck. Just like trying to find the POTUS' college records...

GOPackers! That's the ticket. If President Obama won't come to y'all then go to him at The White House! I love it!

Only thing though, the Pittsburg Steelers are in your way.

It does not matter what Woodson says because the Steelers will be the team visiting the President.

A. Steelers are going to win

B. If you did win, what makes you think Obama will invite you to the white house? As a born/raised Chicagoan (not suburbanite, actual Chicago, Albany Park), if I were President I wouldn't invite these bums to the WH just for them calling me out like that. GO STEELERS!

They just came off a very emotional win against their biggest rivals. They are allowed to be a little fired up, I think. It's the first time the team has gone to the Super Bowl in 13 years. And Charles Woodson has had a long successful career, but doesn't have a ring yet. Give him a break. You'd be fired up too in that situation.

Some level of respect for the President of the U.S. would be expected, but I've long ago decided that most of these pro footabll players are just thugs. Look at their records of rapes, shootings, beatings, all kinds of crimes. . . . . . and they get off for the most part (Michael Vick excepted) because Americans salivate over sports stars. It's sick.

Steelers might have something to say about that.

Imagine a President rooting for his hometown team?

Maybe it's because you say "don't want". LOL If they spent as much time on their grammar as getting their feelings hurt................

Yes, and I am sure you speak with perfect form every time you open your mouth, too.

This was not a lecture at a university or a SOTU address. This is a football player getting his teammates fired up in the locker room after a HUGE win. There is a big difference.

If even the president gets flack for connecting with his hometown team, I guess the rest of us should keep our loyalties secret.

I wouldn't want someone making millions for playing a game and avoiding growing up to get on my case.

His hometown is Washington. An appeals court in Illinois just created a precedent for that opinion, but I can't blame the president for not getting excited about the Redskins. He has never been to a Redskins game, but he has attended Wizards and Nats games.

Does that mean I have to support the Titans?

I lived in DC back when the Redskins had a decent team. Yes they did. Most people who can remember that are dead now but I played in the band at halftime for the then biggest rivalry in the NFL, the Giants-Redskins. I can remember Sammy Baugh but I was there for the tail-end of their glory days.

Obama deserves better that today's Redskins. Everyone does.

Locker room banter.
Ease up people.
The Packers just embarrassed the Mighty Chicaco Bears in their home and earned a trip to the Super Bowl.
I'm guessing you'd be pretty pumped up too if you were in their shoes.
