Terry Glenn Arrested

First Posted: 01/24/11 07:33 AM ET Updated: 05/25/11 07:25 PM ET

Former Dallas Cowboys receiver Terry Glenn was arrested last Thursday in Denton County, Texas for possession of marijuana and driving while intoxicated.

This was at least Glenn's fourth arrest since being released from the Cowboys in 2008, according to multiple reports.

He was also arrested for public intoxication and marijuana possession in 2009 and last year, he was arrested on grand theft auto charges.

The 36-year-old was released on Friday after paying a $3,011 bond.

Glenn played for 12 years in the NFL for the New England Patriots, Green Bay Packers and Dallas Cowboys.

I'll always remember Glenn as a disgruntled player for the Patriots during their run-up to their first superbowl win. Sat out half the year refusing to play . Says it was an injury but it was his dissatisfaction with coaches/management. He was unloaded after the season and he didn't get "The Ring". What a maroon.

Of course, the team that drafted him in the first round and for which he played - the New England Patriots - aren't in the headline now, are they?

Exactly...he was the Patriots #1 draft pick when he entered the league and spent more time with New England then Dallas.

Why is every arrest of a professional or collegiate athlete considered newsworthy?  Rarely a day goes by without some headline about some obscurity being arrested for DUI, burgary, assault and battery, sexual abuse or drug possession.  Athletic ability does not equate with ethics or moral behavior.  There are many more important issues relating to athletics that cry out for attention.

The media doesn't have time for all of those positive role model type things athletes do. Nor do they have time to report on the transformative process found in sports which allows people from various walks of life to become friends for life.

Because of jealousy. Or money envy. Many people like to see those that make more money humiliated. Makes them feel good, I guess.

Former Cowboys Receiver Arrested

A Cowboy arrested where's the news in that. I thought that was a daily occurrence.
