Oscars Hosts: James Franco Saves Anne Hathaway From Wardrobe Malfunction (VIDEO)

First Posted: 01/27/11 11:19 AM ET Updated: 05/25/11 07:30 PM ET

James Franco is nominated for an Oscar, and he's doing his best to make sure nothing goes wrong when he hosts the show.

In the first promo for the Academy Awards telecast, James Franco and Anne Hathaway show that they're hard at work preparing for the show -- though Franco may get a little overzealous. Hey, maybe he just doesn't want an FCC violation.

Right, because James Franco is very concerned with public opinion.

Check out the nominees for the awards.

How was this song taken off the whole web so quickly? I can't even get rid of some stupid thing I said 8 or 9 years ago!

So cute. I love these two.

Love James Franco. He was amazing in 'Milk'. I love that he did General Hospital and then he does 127 Hours. The guy just does what he wants, doesn't care about barriers or stereotypes.

And a PhD. candidate at Yale......a Renaissance man indeed.

Good actors, both. Cute promo.

I have a feeling these two might be adorable and actually make the show worth watching, which it virtually never is.

Two of my absolute favorites. Anne in my opinion is one of the most beautiful and talented working actress these days. She was fantastic in Rachel Getting Married. James should have won for best supporting actor in Milk. Not to mention I love both of there sense of humor..Sadly, James will need to wait for his Oscar again. Both of them are talented enough to earn rightfully...

Both salubrious and lugubrious concurrently.

In Hollywood there's a measure called the "likeabiliy qoutient". Tom Hanks' would be high and Mel Gibson would be low.  The likeability quotient for Hathaway, and more recently (and surprisingly) for Franko is practically off the charts. They're almost too likeable.

I agree. Love them both.

I was likeable once... but then Glenn and Bill-o were born.

LOL : )) The Repubs have turned me into a snarky, whip-tongued shadowy vigilante that half the time, I'm like, "Did that just come out of me??"

Our two, new charming ingenues!
What's not to like.
She's an adorable, smart, quite extraordinarily beautiful woman with eyes brimming joy and love.
He's a feet-on-the-ground 'nice guy' who happens to a ph.d. candidate at Yale.
Again,
What's not to like??

The idea of having two actors host, who are young and part of the industry's current line-up, is daring, and I think will turn out spectacularly!

And they're both balanced enough to make fun of themselves without feeling insecure.
That's refreshing.

I like her but if her mouth were any bigger she would fall in it.

I thought it was funny. Different context, different reason for the sacking.

I like them both...I think the hosts are not the problem here...people are a little sick of the overpaid actors constantly awarding themselves...I know I am...have not watched the Oscars in about ten years...I do watch the pre show though...I like to see the gowns...but the ceremony itself is pretty boring and self indulgent...
