Boston Fusion: Bayarch's Checkerboard Building Brings Countryside To The City (PICTURES)

From Inhabitat:

While you may not be able to actually play checkers on it (unless you're really, really ambitious about it), Boston Fusion has one of the coolest green roofs we've ever seen. The dazzling development is a mixed use building for Boston that aims to create an idyllic suburban landscape in the heart of the city. Designed by Danish-firm Bayarch, the eye-catching apartment and commercial building will feature sloping pathways that meander from street level to the roof, and it has some other sweet eco-features as well.

The idea behind 'Boston Fusion', a mixed use development for Boston, was to create an idyllic suburban landscape in the heart of the city. Designed by Danish-firm Bayarch, led by Christian Bay-Jørgensen, the green-roofed apartment and commercial building will resemble a hilly countryside. The undulating development will also feature sloping pathways that travel from the street level all the way to tip-top of the building, similar to BIG's 8 Tallet in Denmark.
