There were squeals of joy when the lineup for this summer's Hollywood Bowl concert series landed in inboxes around the office. The 3-month-long program, which kicks off with the Hollywood Bowl Hall of Fame Concert on June 17, is a good mix of big name performers from across musical genres (Stevie Wonder, Lang Lang, Beck, Hal and Oates), up and coming acts, and series staples like the "Tchaikovsky Spectacular" and the "Sound of Music Sing-a-Long." We're sorry to see there wont be a Gershwin night this year--there's little else as lovely as hearing "Summertime" at the Bowl--but with acts like Rodrigo y Gabriela, Sarah McLachlan, and Jean Claude Vannier making their Hollywood Bowl debuts, Joni Mitchell and Serge Gainsbourg tributes planned, and the return of former director John Mauceri, our summer calendars just filled up.
