Man Survives Being Struck By Train on Upper East Side

Man's Leg Severed By Oncoming 6 Train

MANHATTAN -- A 30-year-old man was struck by a subway train on the Upper East Side Friday morning, fire officials said.

The man survived, and was taken to Lenox Hill Hospital. He was in stable condition, police said.

The incident occurred at the southbound 6 train stop at Lexington Avenue and East 77th Street just before 2:30 a.m., the FDNY said.
