So, the party of "Let's get government off our backs" is becoming the party of "We've got to save every baby, wanted or not, even at the expense of the Mother." What a wonderful way to alienate half the voters!

For Republicans, "government off our backs" and "small government" and "liberty" and "life" are meaningless political slogans. Everything they do belies the dishonesty of all their holier-than-thou claims. Look no further than the Bush years when all those claims were proved to be false.

Lawmakers who don't seem capable of understanding the trauma of rape should be forced to spend 90 days in the general population of a prison for hard offenders. Let then find out just what rape feels like, how degrading it is and the psychological impact.

So the party of LESS GOVERNMENT wants more GOVERNMENT. As long as they are putting their thumbs on women again!!!! Every time I hear a republican or Tea Party person tell me they are for less Government I just want to laugh.

They are truly the party of control and huge government--against main street and for the rich.

Next it will not be rape (even if force is involved) if the girl or woman is wearing a short skirt. After all, men can not be expected to resist a temptress.

That actually happened in Florida in the early 90s

I do remember that. The judge threw the case out and blamed the girl. 18th century thinking. Thanks for the reminder.

Redefine rape? Rape is rape! But I guess it doesn't matter if you're uninsured.

Not only are they brazenly anti-worker, they are anti-woman. This in the 21st century. Someone really needs to call them out on their game.

Another in the continuing example that Republicans have no shame. With all of the pain and horror in the world right now, why in the hell would: "No Taxpayer Funding for Abortion Act," be a "top priority in the new Congress", other than the Republican thuggery simply doing whatever they want to do, while ignoring the serious issues our nation and the world face. I would also suggest that only female members of congress and the senate be allowed to vote on any issue regarding incest, rape and abortion, as men, almost always, are little more than the perpetrators of these acts.

Sadly, the older women of the Congress (R) signed on to this bill.

Can someone please explain what "unforceable rape" is?

I certainly cannot and apparently neither can the author of the bill, since it isn't explained there either.

That's where the camera on every woman's head of child bearing age comes in. Works much like the cameras the police use when they make an arrest.

The camera is necessary to avoid the he said/she said, document whether there was a knife/gun. If you want a conviction, that is.

My-O-My! I wonder if republican women truly understood what they signed on for?
02:13 PM on 01/31/2011
Republican women think rape will never happen to them because they're too pure. This is just another instance of "she deserved it."

Republican's and the Tea party think Government is too big and intrusive, but that only comes to taxes and govt spending. Otherwise they want government all up in your business. Republicans and Tea party folks are the biggest hypocrites on the planet.
