Terry McMillan Apologizes To Smiths For Calling Kids 'Pimped'

Hello Beautiful:

Just a few hours after Terry McMillan went on a Twitter rant against Will and Jada Pinkett-Smith for "pimping and exploiting" their kids Jaden and Willow, she's issued an apology.

It seems she couldn't take the heat. However, she does make a good point.

Why is she tweeting about their children anyway? None of her business...who cares...if they want to produce movies with their kids that is their prerogative...jaden was good in karate kid and my daughter loved willow's song...they have talent...my only concern would be if the only work they get is through mom and dad, when do they start questioning their abilities if no one else will hire them? Terry has a point, but really none of her concern...

When people were critical of P.Diddy for buying his son a $360k car for his 16th birthday/ Diddy answered them "That's my son."

Financially, the Smith kids are going to be okay no matter what they do.

The Smiths started in the business at a young age so they understand the pitfalls. I think it's difficult to successfully transition from a child star to an adult star. The persons that do it best seem to take a role at their transition that shatters the idea of them being a child. When Jody foster took the role of "The Accused" she shattered the idea of "little" Jody Foster. No one can see "Mysterious Skin" and think of Joseph Gordon-Leavitt as Tommy from "Third Rock FTS."
Daniel Radcliffe has already prepared everyone for his transition by doing "Equus." Those type of gutsy moves allow child actors to transition into adult stars.

If the kids didn't have any talent then I could see her point but these kids are no Paris Hilton. They have proven they deserve to be famous. McMillan should be ashamed at going after kids and ones who have more talent then she does.

The Smiths like many uber wealthy are allowing their children to cultivate their talents. Has anyone here taken any performing arts classes as children? Some kids play sports. Is that exploitation? These kids should take acting because they're not great at it, but they should also enjoy the benefit of their advantages. If they fail, they have many years to find themselves in alternative careers. The benefit of wealth is the flexibility to explore and fail with a nest supporting you. Why not? I think it's wonderful. And now HOW are Will and Jada "pimping" their kids when Will and Jada have their OWN wealth?! That makes zero sense. They are allowing their children to explore. Live and let live.
