If she took up weight training, she'll gain some muscle and up her metabolism a bit (which works for people of all ages).

its "normal" to gain 10 pounds for every decade you are out of college ...
05:37 PM on 01/30/2011
That's another good reason to put off graduation.

Oh please. I came here specifically to make that statement. Ever heard of free speech? People often comment on things they don't like in addition to the ones that they do like. Get used to it.

Geez--how long are women supposed to stay "sexy" for Christ's sake?! She's a granny and needs to embrace it. Focus on being healthy, natural and get on with life...enjoy it!

I think she looks great for her age. She always looked good in the SATC shows among women younger then she was. She was a riot!! I pray she stays away from the cheek implants, fish lips, and eye pulls.

Okay, full disclosure - I find Ms. Cattrall very attractive. However, I can't believe she's at Butter to promote her contract for "I can't believe it's not butter". That "not butter" shit will kill a person, and why would said restaurant allow such a slam on it's name? On the other hand, real butter from cows that have grazed on grass is an amazing, yes healthy, food. I would totally offer to meet Ms. Cattrall for a "butter date" - she brings her stuff, I bring real butter, and we, uh, go head-to-head, you know, in the mouth, all over the body, whatever works. But I digress...

She's never had to worry about her top.  One of the flattest actresses I've ever seen that wasn't rail thin to start with.  But she at least skipped the plastic...

Little titties don't sag like the big ones---that's the payoff for not being voluptuous when you're young. At least you're not playing soccer with them in your fifties..

Geez, I wish Ms. Cattrall could have told that to the blogger in the Health section who feels that middle-aged women can easily control their weight via diets. As you age, it is much harder. When I was younger, I could shed weight via diet and moderate exercise. Now, I have to keep my weight in check via starvation and extreme exercise. LOL! Good Luck, Kim!!!

SO true... as you age & body changes. In order to maintain a 'healthy' weight, you pretty much have to resort to extreme measures.

Aging and loss of hormones, are the culprits, most women don't have the money stars such as herself have to hire trainers and nutritionists to fight the inevitable.

It's not loss of hormones, it's your metabolism going south, and it happens to everyone once you hit 45 or 50. You don't burn calories as efficiently as you used to and the pounds pile on. People don't realize that in order to maintain your weight as you get older, you have to eat less than you used to eat.
02:10 PM on 01/29/2011
Regular exercise is enough to ward off the extra pounds. I'm 55 and haven't gained a pound in 15 years.

That's not entirely true, eating less is not the ultimate answer for everyone, and although metablism is critical, hormones are big issue generally ignored by the medical community. In fact when it comes to women's health, women are generally ignored by the medical professional when it comes to health issues, without some major upheaval taking place. Insurance coverage also diminishes women's health generally without some type of kick in the rear from some higher power.
