And rightfully so, Vick deserves it. we can get a durable receiver for Kolb. A.J. Greene would be a great receiver to fit the Eagles.

I heard on ESPN radio this morning that the Eagles want a first round pick AND more for Kolb. The first round pick is a stretch in itself (depending on which pick # it is). But, c'mon, you want MORE than just the first rounder for Vick's back up?

Free Kolb and let him start his career (even though Philly needs a security blanket for the injury-prone Vick).

Kolb could have started this season and won 10 games easy. He's better than Palmer or Tavris Jackson.

Won 10 games easy? How? The Giants alone would have put him on IR.

All these moves may be for almsot nothing if there is no CBA made or a lockout. If that happens, nobody, but the owners will get paid.

Kolb is a backup. He cant move and cant take a beating. I think it's improbable that he could stay healthy for half a season much less a full one. With the state of the Eagles offensive line he has no chance.

I feel Kolb hasn't proven anything that makes him worth their asking price. Who asks for a first round pick and then some for a back up QB? I guess the Eagles do. Also, he lost his starting job because of that injury early in the season.. and that's pretty much the last we've heard from Kevin Kolb. (he did play decently in Vick's absence when Vick went down, but still).

The rumor, from listening to sports talk radio is they were offered a first and 4th rounder for Kolb last year. Of course, that was pre-Vick taking over. That would look pretty good right now, wouldnt it? I say if you can get a second rounder for him, grab it. Kolb is apparently well-regarded, but like you, I haven't sen any evidence of it on the field. IMO, the only way he will succeed is to go to a team that runs the ball well and can protect him and god knows, that isn't the way Andy redi likes to play.

Kolb is totally a backup. We all saw that at the begining of the season....Reid did Kolb a favor...also he didn't want to see Kolb get killed!

You stay here and enjoy the ride........Kolb,and find a good team......

Kevin Kolb is run-of-the-mill. He has a nice career ahead as a journeyman backup. But starter? No. Kolb started the first game and the last game of this past season, and he was terrible in both. In between, he had a few moments, but that's all they were.

As an Eagles fan, I couldn't care less if he leaves, because if Vick goes down their chances are screwed if they're relying on Kolb to carry them.

Kolb's better then you give him credit for. He knows the offense and if he's given time can make the throws. You conveniently leave out the game against Atlanta, the top seed in the NFC, where Kolb lead the Eagles to a win. WHEN Vick goes down you'd better hope you have someone as good as Kolb as the back up. As a Dallas fan you don't want to be stuck with a mediocre back up

I wouldn't say they are screwed with Kolb carrying them if Vick does down again. To have him as your back up QB is a luxury. He could be a starter on a number of teams (granted, these teams are all sub .500).

Give the man credit, he played pretty well in Vick's absence. He's not worth their asking price, but that'll drop and a lot of teams will come calling.

Vick had a great season for sure. The Broncos oughta pick up Kolb. I'm not buying the Tebow phegnome! (Course I didn't buy the Elway thing back in "83" either so I could be wrong again. Hope so anyway.

What is everyone's problem with Tebow? Do his references to bible scripture rub people the wrong way or what? The few games he's played, he's done pretty well for the team. I just don't get all the hate for Tebow.
07:46 AM on 01/31/2011
That's exactly what it is on HP with the ture believers. If they don't like someone's politics you have to hate him even if you don't know him. It's bigotry pure and simple. I've never seen anyone say a bad word about him by his teammates, the people who know him best

Its his horrible mechanics that people get down on him for. His delivery in college was so slow everybody knew if he didn't change it he would never get his passes off quick enough to sucsseed in the NFL

Kolb, if you leave, find a team with a good O-Line.

Stay and enjoy the ride, Philly will trade you eventually anyway. Why rush it?

I'm shocked. People are actually talking about football. That being said, Kolb should stick around and learn a few things. He's a good QB, but if he bides his time, he'll be even better when it's time for him to take the reins. Wouldn't want him to be a Ryan Leaf.
10:36 PM on 01/30/2011
Why stick around? There's no point. The Iggles only care about their video game style offense that sputters in the playoffs.

He's better off going to a team with a sane/patient fanbase and a quality coaching staff.

Yeah the only thing he's going to learn is how little regard for his QBs health Andy Reid has. Of course he benched Kolb because he knew he would never last under center with their pathetic line but then he left Vick in the game against Minnesota and made no adjustments to try to protect, like giving the ball to their stud running back, he just kept calling deep pass plays and let Vick run for his life

Agreed. I don't think learning behind Vick for another year will do much good for Kolb. Kolb doesn't have the second option like Vick does to create positive yards on his own. He could easily lead one of these sub .500 teams with no QB's to a .500 year or better.
