Annie Buckley and Dane Picard's "Human Nature" at LAX
share this story
WHO: Annie Buckley and Dane Picard
WHAT: Human Nature
WHEN: October 2010 - February 2011
WHERE: Los Angeles International Airport
Gate One, Terminal One
1 World Way
Los Angeles, CA, 90045
WHY: Normally, one would not put human nature and LAX in the same thought process, as the stress of traveling coupled with the increasing chaos caused by airport security can bring out the worst in people. However, "Human Nature" provides a fantastic, and much needed, break from the institutional surroundings of the terminal.
Human Nature is made possible in part by funding from the City of Los Angeles Department of Cultural Affairs and Los Angeles World Airports. This two-person exhibition includes photo-based digital collage and stop-motion animation that explore the boundaries and relationships between imagery and concepts of the human body, the natural environment, and the imagination. The exhibition is open to travelers passing through Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) on Southwest Airlines or US Airways in Gate 1, Terminal 1, in the hallway to the right, past the security checkpoint.(From: From Los Angeles Department of Cultural Affairs and Los Angeles World Airports)
