Rihanna 'S&M' Video: Chains, Whips, Skin (VIDEO)

Rihanna is perfectly good at being bad -- and this video proves it.

The pop star has unveiled her the music video for her song 'S&M' and the name fits what's on screen perfectly: chains, whips and lots of skin. Who needs blurry nude pictures when this high value production is available?

David LaChapelle is claiming plaigerism because several aspects of this "video" are exact replicas of his vogue photo shoots from 1995-2002. Once again Rihanna is caught borrowing from a more talented artist. The list includes: Tina Turner, Grace Jones, Kelis, FeFe Dobson, Solange Knowles, Beyonce and Gaga. No originality, no talent.

Melina Matsoukas did an awesome job with this video. At first I was afraid I wouldn't like it because I thought the video might be dark and serious like Disturbia. (Disturbia is an awesome video too, but the lyrics are less direct than S&M.) It's a great video, very cheeky and defiant.

That's an insult to Madonna...that's not nearly as entertaining as justify my love. This is the same thing as her usual videos. Walking around posing. No dancing, singing off key, with auto-tune to help her. So we got her simulating oral sex with a banana...I mean she has no originality.

To be fair, theres a lot to be said for someone as "big" as she is right now doing a very strongly pro-BDSM themed video. Everyone involved, with an especially nice artistic touch emphasizing the onlooker's enjoyment, is clearly having fun. Except for the unhealthiest looking person in the video.

After the beating by Mr. Brown, Rihanna has been very dark, aggressive, S&M & sexually explicit...Sad. Is this some sort of cathartic therapy for you? The way Rihanna acts in public and/or her videos has nothing to do with Mr. Brown. She has grown up. She's not 17 anymore. Rihanna is doing what she probably always wanted to do when she first came into the music industry. I do believe this has been stated by her already. Maybe not in these exact words. She's finally able to express herself through music and song and that is what she's doing. It has nothing to do with Chris Brown.

Urgh....how very religious right-ish this comment is! Perhaps she is just a switch and finds BDSM play exciting and fulfilling sexually? The lack of understanding of people within the BDSM lifestyle and the constant lumping of everyone who, however strongly or in whatever position, into some sort of deranged sexual deviant is really trying. She is an adult and if she finds the manipulation of external stimulations titillating, or power play a heady treat in her sexual discourse with another.... there is nothing wrong with that. Nor is it anything resembling, or has it anything to do with, domestic violence.
