I was shopping for an iPad this Christmas and I looked at the Galzxy Tab and I did not like it.
The size was the biggest factor as well as being thethered to Verizon's expensive plans.
I would have bought the iPad except that it could not do a lot of things I wanted it to.

The Xoom looks to be the best tablet option coming soon, but I will wait until it drops in price.
In the meantime I am seriously considering the Atrix.

"Quite small" becomes "quite smooth", but still no meaningful sales figure.

I wonder why that is? ;-)

Sad to hear this. From what I understand it's a great little device. I was worried when it came out that Samsung went to small. You hear a lot of Ihaters talking about the Ipad being to big but really its not. Those people that actually have them and use them will back me up on this, but the bigger screen size is better. Im hoping Samsung has enough success with this device it spawns several generations and copies. Id just advise them that they should quite skimping on the bucks and make the next one bigger.

Kind of like when Hyundai overstated their cars' horsepower around 6 years ago. I got my 10 year warranty extended for free due to that bit of lying on their part. And I don't buy Hyundai any more, but for reasons over and beyond that.

Totally called this one. They are bragging about sales and I have yet to see anyone using one anywhere, whereas I see Kindles and iPads everywhere.

I see people using iPad ....looks stupid. I have all the same apps on my Samsung SGS incluidng a great book reader. plus ITs a phone. and it fits in my pocket.

Why do I have the feeling that Apple paid for that article?

I LOVE Android. I am waiting for one of the 10' Android tabs. The Notion Ink Adam (despite its struggle with manufacturing issues and young tech management) is the tablet I would really like.

And when Honeycomb comes out, the iPad will lose market share big time.

iPads and iphones are for people who want the phone to control them , not they control the phone/

It's no secret that Apple buys stories on Huffpo, so you maybe correct. But brace yourself for the army of iNUTS that will inevitably crash into this thread.

Duh!! Lets see what worldwide actual users of a couple of smart phones think and their rating

First, the iphone4 rating. 6.7 out of 10

Next the Samsung Galaxy S rating. 8.5 out of 10.

I don't own an iPhone or Galaxy. I just went to that site and voted all 10 for the iPhone, and all 1 for Galaxy.

That was easy. Now think if I had an interest in really affecting the results. A script would be simple.

The 'sweet spot'' for smart phone is 4 inch screen. 4.3 is too big. 3.5 too small.

The Samsung Galaxy S is such a hot seller worldwide that they can't keep up with demand.

Of course, APPLE which of course is made in Communist China and not democratic South Korea like Samsung remains a hot seller in the USA.

Sounds like Apple disinfo to me.

As for people that say there are few Android apps .. PURE BS!!!!!!

I have about 50 apps installed, (useful ones) not crap games.

They are all the same as iphone apps.

And Android has the whole world developing its software and improving it daily.

I have a TV app (300 stations worldwide), I have my banking app (ABN-AMRO)., Worldwide radio app, scanner app for shopping. Office app. allowing me to create and view Powerpoint, Excel and doc files., I have Copilot Live app with maps worldwide and talking navigation .

I have Google maps and Google Earth app, Picasas photo app, wireless printing app., loads of phone apps and best of all I don't need to go thru some iTunes to install anything.

I plug in my phone and it gives me 2 more drives on my PC. in my case H:/ and I:/ and copy any music or films from my torrent folder. No drm crap either.

iphone is for people that want the phone to control them. Samsung builds phones that let YOU control the phone.

Very rarely do I see one of us fanboys hating on one of your products. Now you guys all over the Apple threads talking about devices you have no clue about is something you can see right now by clicking on any Apple story. Its like a snowstorm of Ihater stupidity. If you care to scroll up you will see I praised the Galaxy. I actually am disturbed at the idea of a single product on the market. I prefer competition. I dont want a homogoneous device no matter who manufactures it. I want different devices going different directions spurring on development. Of course I am a happy Iphone/Mac user, so I don't feel any need to knock other products. Im not feeling like im standing in any shadow like Android Ihaters seem to feel.

I have a Samsung Galaxy S and love it. The internet looks exactly the same as on my home PC with all flash content.

And the Super Amoled screen is FANTASTIC.

My friend says she is dumping her iphone4 and getting the SGS.
