Bill O'Reilly And Alan Colmes Fight About Al Jazeera (VIDEO)

A furious Bill O'Reilly got into a shouting match with Alan Colmes about Al Jazeera on O'Reilly's Tuesday show.

O'Reilly started by showing footage of guests on Al-Jazeera making what he said were anti-Semitic and anti-American statements. He then brought on Colmes and his right-wing counterpart Monica Crowley to discuss the channel.

Colmes said that the distinction between a channel and its guests was an important one, and that Al Jazeera has been a thorn in the side of Arab governments across the Middle East.

"I would think a populist like you would support Al Jazeera," Colmes said to O'Reilly.

"Are you crazy? Are you nuts?" O'Reilly said. "I'm not taking the side of an anti-Semitic, anti-American network!" He noted that Colmes was Jewish. "The people who run that network would do violence to you," he told him.

Crowley said that "the far left" supports Al Jazeera because it is "essentially anti-American." This outraged Colmes. "That's disgusting," he said. "That's sickening!"

O'Reilly and Colmes then started shouting at each other, with O'Reilly saying that there was no balance to what was, in his view, a constant stream of objectionable statements on Al Jazeera.

"i'm getting a little mad at you," he said to Colmes, his voice rising. "Grasp this. There's no counter on it! Got it? There's no counter on it!"

Fox cannot stand this because Al Jazeera won't allow "point of view" opinions "reporting". Al Jazeera actually reports!

Fox news is so pathetic they condemn themselves with their own words. AlJazeera English does the job far better than the propagandist fox news people any day of the week. Fox is getting scared so now they go on the attack to try and ruin the credibility of AlJazeera. To me that is slanderous. Fox should be called out for what they do. They have done enough damage to the american people and abroad. They should be yanked from the airwaves. What they do is not freedom of speech it is demonizing and slandering of those with other views. That is not what free speech is about. They are a corporation that is running wild with horrible propaganda. It is costing everyone dearly. AlJazeera English to me is one of the BEST news networks I have ever seen they speak for the little guy not for those in power.

O'Reilly's complaints against Al Jazeera are ridiculous on numerous fronts:

1. Really? He's blaming them for covering Al Sadr's return speech? Al Sadr's return to Iraq was a significant event that SHOULD have been covered. Numerous media outlets quoted Sadr. Are they anti-American as well? Were the Al Jazeera correspondents praising Sadr? I bet not.

2. Oh! A person who came on Al Jazeera made remarks that Bill O'Reilly doesn't like--Al Jazeera's fault! They should have known beforehand everything that said guest was about to say! Apparently the guys at Fox can read the minds of the people they're about to interview!

You want to know what real media bias looks like: having an anchor at the news station--not a guest with his or her own opinions--but an actual news anchor spouting their own ideological views. Having an entire program in which an anchor does nothing but spout his views. That's bias.

Bully 'Rielly should actually watch Al-J and the BBC as well....we have a blockaide in real news in this country.....it's always fascinating to watch REAL reporting when I'm in Europe.........it boggles the mind what passes for news here....winter storms anyone? only egypt? Britney? Gaga? mind numbing.......we are doomed.

you are right. our news here in the united states has been canceled a long time. i noticed when everything turned in to a reality show to steal what little intelligence we did have to keep our heads turned from asking and wanting serious questions and answers of whats going on in our country and beyond.. CNN when Ted Turner was the owner had really good news we were kept informed of situations in other countries they had reporters reporting from these countries. but now even one of their news stations has reality shows. and we get more clueless.
