Boulder Girl Scouts Won't Be Arrested For Selling Cookies, Police Assure

A memo sent this week to metro-area Girl Scout leaders left some troops wondering whether they need to keep extra cookie money on hand for bail when they sell their signature snacks in Boulder.

The e-mail message, which was sent via a "cookie mom" volunteer for the Girl Scouts of Colorado, warned scout leaders that, "If you would like to be approved to go door-to-door or have a booth sale in Boulder County, you must fill out the appropriate paperwork and have your vendors licenses returned to you, or you will be arrested."

After the NIGHTLINE expose on terrible product being sold in colorful Girl Scout boxes — and the dwindling quantity for a higher price, compared with six years ago — perhaps there should be arrests.
