A bar chart showing top twenty books along bottom by sales in paper with sales in E superimposed will allow analysis of various kinds, especially if bars are color-coded, e.g. red = yet another stupid book about ghosts or the supernatural or vampires or that kind of c-rap.

It will be interesting to see how this list differs from the print-only list. When a book sells very quickly due to an aggressive launch, it can go out of print almost immediately and miss its chance to land on the Times list. As eReaders become more common, authors may find their potential readers choosing to buy the eBook instead--giving them a shot at the list.

Sounds great, but ummm . . . the rub is how one defines "ebook bestseller list" . . .one would think it would be a list that reflects the best selling ebooks for a given week but the Times' present model fails to do so.

Great idea! I hope to someday be on their eBook bestseller list.
