Rich Rodriguez, who was fired as Michigan's head football coach in early January, made his first public appearance since his departure as a guest analyst on CBS College Sports.

One of the coaches the panel interviewed during national signing day was his replacement, Brady Hoke. The new Wolverines coach greeted Rodriguez right away and both handled the situation surprisingly well.

Kevin Bull of the Detroit Free Press described one moment as "semi-awkward" when Hoke "acknowledged there was a 'good foundation laid.' Rodriguez congratulated him on 'a great class.'"

At the end of the interview, Hoke said, "Rich, I'm going to talk to you real soon, OK?" The ex-coach said "okay" and wished him luck.

Rodriguez reportedly had an opportunity not to participate in Hoke's interview, but he decided to go along with it.
