Wear Red Day 2011: Wearing Red For Women's Heart Health

It's National Wear Red Day! Wear Red For Women's Heart Health

Celebrities and regular people alike are wearing red today to support the fight against the number one killer of women in America: heart disease.

The first Friday of every February since 2004 has been deemed "National Wear Red Day." This year, February 4, 2011 is the American Heart Association's "Wear Red Day 2011."

The date encourages women nationwide to wear red in order to show support for fighting heart disease. But supporting the cause is about more than just wearing the red dress you've been meaning to for years.

There are many ways to show your support on National Wear Red Day or any day throughout the year - from simply wearing red to helping organize an event at your workplace, school or local organization. You can also fundraise with our easy-touse Wear Red Day fundraising tool. Visit
GoRedForWomen.org/WearRedDay to build your own fundraising page and raise valuable dollars to help stop heart disease in our lifetimes.

The Go Red For Women campaign also sponsors the annual Heart Truth's Red Dress Collection fashion show, which will take place on February 9 this year. Celebrities involved in the fashion show include Jennifer Love Hewitt, Julianne Hough, Eve and Dita Von Teese, according to Fox News.
