Lindsey Wixson Dishes On Her Prom Dress, Getting Her GED & Wanting To Fly

WWD recently had the pleasure of spending the day with Lindsey Wixson, the 16-year-old model of the moment -- and it's a wonder she managed to fit in some time with the fashion newspaper. Wixson, best known for her gap teeth and full lips, has been in super-high demand as of late, walking in 44 shows during last fall's fashion weeks and bagging campaigns and editorials left and right.

But instead of joining Wixson at a photo shoot, WWD went with her and her 18-year-old boyfriend Nick Bananto (the two met in a donut shop in Lindsey's home state of Kansas!) to visit designer Jason Wu, who's making Wixson's prom dress. Wu revealed, "It will be my first prom dress. I've done all the other occasions, but I've never done a prom dress before." And they all settled on "like, a bustier, and then a double-shoulder thing, and a blue, kind of flowy dress."

Our high school selves are totally jealous. Okay, our present-day selves are totally jealous.

On focusing on her career:

"They let people party at a very young age. I'm not into it, and it's bad for my skin." [...] "Real success is not, like, materialistic. It's being where you want to be when you want to be; just living your life how you feel; having an ultimate goal and being able to accomplish it. For me right now, success will be getting a GED."

On wanting to learn to fly:

"One, it's better than sitting back in the back and not being able to see the whole view," she says. "And I think it would be cool to just be able to fly wherever. If anything, you know, went wrong with the world, I could just fly away. I really like Amelia Earhart. She's from Kansas. She disappeared, so I have to take her place. I want to be Dorothy. I want to be Amelia Earhart....I want to do it all."

I'm all for a face with an element of the unusual, and definitely one with character...this girl may have that, but in no way is it beautiful.

Henious, like just about every other weird-looking so-called 'supermodel' they've unleashed on us over the past 10 years. What happened to the Heidi Klums and the Cindy Crawfords? You know, women that are actually attractive and had at least a LITTLE meat on their bones? Seems like all you need to be a model these days is long, skinny limbs and a very strange face.
