It has and it says a lot about the morals of the average person who watches this show and thus enables him to continue this fatal path.

He acts like Charlie Sheen. I don't get the appeal, but he makes a lot of money on that tv show.

I think the answer is 'yes' unfortunately. His onscreen character is consistent with his offscreen antics so I think its more difficult for people to recognize that this is not a sitcom and his very life is at stake.
