So many are blaming President Obama for constricting the budget on some of the social programs. Do you think he would be doing that if the Democrats hadn't gotten clobbered in the recent election?

I think all this is the result of the "tea party" and other "conservatives" out organizing and out voting the progressives. If you sit around and talk while the other side organizes, this is what you get. From the looks of things right now, you are going to get another dose in 2012.

Of course, if it gets cut, it will be congress doing the cutting. Obama does not decide the budget. He's probably just playing one of his games to get congress to take responsibility instead of them always looking to him to take the heat for everything.

I am life long Democrat and I am upset at this idea. I live in a Senior Apt Building. Some of my neighbors would have to make a choice. Do I heat my apartment, get food, or my medication. And I live in Central NY.
We are judged on how we treat those less fortunate than us. We are not being judge very high.

Let's just see how much money this saves "the government" when people call an ambulance to take them to the emergency room to get warm.

All they have to say is they have chest pains, and they can be fed and kept warm for 24 hours.

This applies to those without health insurance who enter via the emergency room, and the elderly on Medicare and the poor on Medicaid.

As always, penny wise and pound foolish.
