I work in a bookstore that sells e-readers. A woman approached me with the following question," If I bought the black and white e-reader a year ago when it first came out, can I bring it back and trade it in for the new color one?" Great idea lady! Try that at the car dealership and the shoe store first and let me know how that works out for you.

My husband & I were walking through a book store one day when 2 teenaged girls walked by us. One said to the other, "Ugh. Let's go. It smells like books in here."

Work in a used/rare bookstore. Its on our signs and advertisements. We hear this comment often,"Do you only have rare & used books, where can we find new ones?"

I have just the opposite. I work in a tiny independent book store that doesn't sell used books, and people get all upset with me when I won't buy their old books.

"Where do you keep the birthday candles?"

Couple giggling and flirting their way through the shelves, at one point he smacks her rear, and she just howls in pain. He's all "that didn't hurt!" and she's yells (yes, really yells, I think the people in the shoe store next door heard her), "That's where you bit me last night!"

Christmas shopper: "My Uncle Harry saw a book on golf here, he said it was green."

I have no issue with returning a book because of typos, it's a defective product and takes away from the enjoyment of reading.

Agree! Most of the times I want to write down the typos in my books and send a report to the publishers...

There are plenty of blogs about this subject. Many of them are very entertaining. I used to follow one but no longer do.
