A flock of fashionistas and fashion-supporters headed to Cipriani Wall Street on Wednesday to kick off the fall shows at the amFAR New York Gala. Some highlights? Marc Mezvinsky and Chelsea Clinton all gussied up, Carine Roitfeld in not black but white and supermodel Carol Alt looking as stunning as ever.

What has happened to the fashion world? Most of those outfits were hideous. Where's they style, the elegance, the tailoring. I'm simply disgusted.

Wow, that pic with Stevie, Gladys, Elton, and Dionne brought back memories. "That's what friends are For" was my song back in the day. Matter of fact, I need that on my Ipod. I'll put on my "Feel Good" playlist. "I'll be on your side forever more!"

Maybe I'm missing something. I just don't get it. First of all, what's with Chelsea Clinton and the fashionista thing? Nobody was allowed to report anything but good things about Chelsea, and that ridiculously expensive wedding. They never take close up photos of her or her husband, and whoever picks out HIllary's clothes, and that ugly dress at the wedding - it's like, is my sense of good looks and fashion just that far off the mark - or is it that people with money, who think they have fashion sense, but are butt-ugly, just forcing their opinion of fashion on us?

Cause some of those fashions are really really ugly, and the wealthy people wearing that stuff, can't dress themselves. Most of us can go into Target and come out looking pretty nice. Some of these designers are cross-eyed and color blind.

I do not think anyone believes Chelsea Clinton or her Mom is a Fashionista. However, Chelsea does attend fundraisers and I believe this event was a fundraiser. It is well known that even Hillary does not believe she is a Fashionista. I am passed her clothes and her hair. I see other things. Everyone has a role in life. Fashion has never been the role of Hillary or of her daughter. As for the wedding, you know as well as anyone else that weddings are off the table as far as critique goes. Every bride and MOB chooses what they want, for themselves, not for anyone else.

I know. What don't ALL these people stay home and donate the outragious amount of money they spent on this show and the dresses/tuxes they WORE to the show, and give it to feed the hungry, cloth the naked and pay for the heating bills of the cold?
