World Leaders React To Mubarak's Resignation

The international spotlight is currently on Egypt, after President Hosni Mubarak stepped down after 18 days of civilian protests against his 30-year rule.

Since the beleaguered leader announced his resignation, the streets of Cairo and Alexandria have erupted in a jubilant celebration, and now, many world leaders and diplomats have chimed in the historic moment, after which "Egypt will never be the same," as President Obama noted.

In Gaza, Hamas spokesman Sami Abu Zuhri praised "the sacrifices and the steadfastness of the Egyptian people," while French President Nicolas Sarkozy called Mubarak's decision "courageous and necessary." As for Amr Moussa, rumored to be one of Mubarak's potential successors, the Egyptian secretary-general of the Arab League noted, "As an Egyptian citizen, I am proud to serve my country with all the others at this stage, to build a consensus of opinion."
