Ann Coulter: 'There Should Be More Jailed Journalists' (VIDEO)

First Posted: 02/13/11 11:35 AM ET Updated: 05/25/11 07:30 PM ET

Ann Coulter said she thinks there should be more journalists put in jail during her appearance at the annual CPAC conference on Saturday.

Coulter's comments came during a response to a question from a woman in the audience. The woman initially asked Coulter why she and other Republicans had championed free elections in Iraq but were warning about them in Egypt.

"You don't go around disturbing countries where you have a loyal ally," Coulter responded.

"What is more important though to American values--being friends with Israel still or knowing there are jailed dissidents and journalists [in Egypt]?" the woman asked.

"What do you mean knowing that there are jailed journalists?" Coulter said. "I think there should be more jailed journalists." This prompted a huge round of applause from the crowd.

I'm not sure there's enough room in there with all that venomous sarcasm for a gun, certainly not a Bible....

Ann Coulter is one of the numerous right wing propagandists and rewriters of history in the process, who has helped to promote Reagan mythology. Here is a paragraph of the reality of Reagan, written in the New York Times:

"But when all is said and done, it is the economic revolution that gained steam during the Reagan years and is still squeezing the life out of the middle class and the poor that is Reagan’s most significant legacy. A phony version of that legacy is relentlessly promoted by right-wingers who shamelessly pursue the interests of the very rich while invoking the Reagan brand to give the impression that they are in fact the champions of ordinary people."

She is a fringe character who knows how to keep her name in the news by spewing hate. The perfect emblem of the state of current political discourse...

Cause that's not stomping on any body's Constitutional rights is it Ann? WOW, she is a piece of work! They should just put her in jail for all the lame stuff she says.

The applause agreeing with her is a clear indication Republicans could care less about the Constitution and the people it protects and more about how they want Americans to conform to their ridiculous world views.

If they jailed every genuine journalist in the world, Ann Coulter would still be walking the streets looking for fools to applaud her bigotry.

So saying horrible things will get me attention and even money from conservative organizations and events?

In that case, it's high time we did something about the Smurf population in this country. They're small. They can go anywhere. Who knows how many George Soros has reporting on our every conversation?

They speak foreign language on American soil! "Smurf" this and "Smurf" that! They should be forced to learn English and convert to Christianity.

Did you know they live in mushrooms? They're all dope fiends! They're all laid back, talk about "working together" and make eyes at white women!

I will not rest until I live in a Smurf-free country! Join me at CPAC! God would want you to be there!!! .................and make a small contribution to my political action committee. To fight the Smurf menace.

Reagan is Jesus.

Only at a conservative gathering can one advocate propping up brutal dictators, jailing journalist and receive a applause.

And they love to call liberals fascist. They project like a Imax theater.
