Grilled (or Broiled) Oysters with a Sriracha Lime Butter
1 of 16
Food 52:

We wish more people would grill or broil oysters -- it's so easy and the quick blast of heat concentrates the oysters' brine and browns their tips without drying them out. Here you mash up butter with Sriracha, shallots, lime juice and cilantro and as the oysters cook -- we broiled them -- the flavorful butter melts and poaches the plump little bivalves. We think the butter would also be pretty great on clams, fish, shrimp, crab and even corn. One detail to keep in mind: the lime juice just will not mash into the butter, so just spoon the juices over the oysters after dabbing them with the butter. - A&M

Nothing with Ahi? Sustainably caught sushi quality red tuna (no bluefin!) is that clear deep Valentine's red, has that luscious brimming with umami melt in your mouth flavor and takes any number of seasoning treatments very well or is a culinary star all by itself.

All recipes are good and "Salmon Papillotes with Red Peppercorns, Lime and Fresh Ginger " is really complementing the Valentine Day Theme. I just love it.

Dressing idea would also be great as valentine day idea. Especially Red dresses are truly complements the theme of Valentine day 2011. Get Red valentine Dresses Online at :http://www.onlygowns.com/purchase/reddresses.asp

I'd agree with the ancho-chili chocolate, but not seeing the romance in any of the other dishes. This article had the best food suggestions I've seen in a while: http://foodiegossip.blogspot.com/2011/02/have-hot-valentines-day-with-foodie.html

We barbecue oysters with this mix: melted butter, minced garlic, Worcestshire and a dab of honey. It's awesome. Once in a while we'll mix it up with half and half salsa and butter. MMMM good!

kudos! This is actually one of the most heart-healthy dishes. I think if you had this a few times a week you would notice significant benefits in both skin and energy.

The only one that looked good was the salmon, but that's because I haven't had salmon in years.
