Grammy Awards Show

NEW YORK — Lady Gaga is bringing her spectacle to HBO.

The network said Tuesday that it is taping two Lady Gaga shows in New York's Madison Square Garden later this month for a concert special. The document of Gaga's "Monster Ball" tour will be televised on May 7, two weeks before the singer is releasing a new disc.

The woman who choreographed most of Lady Gaga's videos, Lauriann Gibson, will direct the concert special.

HBO says that Lady Gaga, who was carried into the Grammys Sunday in a giant egg, will put on some brand new moves for the special. Gaga's latest album "The Fame Monster" won three Grammys.

Listen, anyone who says she can't sing without pitch correction or a "mixer" just exposes themselves to be ignorant about music or the technology used in audio engineering. You have every right to like her music or not like her music. However correct pitch is correct pitch, something she manages to pull off quite welll. You have seemed to have confused her with Katy Perry (Who does require a lot of processing and post-production help.)

This chick is the most stupid, poser clubkid ever. Our vapid mediocrity manufacturing clearchannel/livenation/houseofblues music monopoly is foisting this garbage on a world music market against its wishes proving that industry kids can make anyone into a global mega atomic super mega star at will. Her music stinks. SHE CANT SING WITHOUT A MIXER AND AUGMENTING VOCAL TRACKS. Her "shocking" fashion episodes have more to do with 7th grade girls breaking ties with elementary school than any cultural moving and shaking of subtance. This no talent hack is a warmed over refry of every poptart that's come before. That'd be okay if she hadn't started believing her publicists lies. Her stuff doesnt play in nightlife. Her cozying up to gay folks is disingenous and contrived, like her. She is a fraud literally an inside joke being foisted off on music lovers by industry kids.

HBO: Netflix is starting to eat your lunch and you are desperate to hold market share so you'll stoop to a new low by putting this backroom creation on your network.

Thought she was great on 60 Minutes.

This woman is so irrelevant on so many levels, she almost becomes relevant in terms of irrelevancy.
08:37 AM on 02/16/2011
Why is she particularly irrelevant compared to other popstarts who don't even attempt creativity? Or less irrelevant than the flamboyant rockstar with meaningless lyrics and lazy performances? Just curious.
09:58 AM on 02/16/2011
Well, I don't know what you mean by "attempting creativity" and "lazy performances."
In spite of all the lights, costumes and dancing, Lady Gaga's show is in no way more creative or meaningful than what I think you're describing.
