Chargers Player Arrested For Public Intoxication

San Diego Chargers receiver Legedu Naanee was reportedly arrested early Saturday morning in Indianapolis for public intoxication and resisting arrested.

Naanee was said to have stumbled upon a crime scene, cursed at an officer and refused to leave.

According to Indystar.com, police used tear gas on Naanee after he "attempted to cross yellow tape marking off an area where detectives were investigating a fatal shooting."

More from Fox Sports:

Police said they arrested Naanee -- who had a "strong odor of an alcoholic beverage on or about his breath or person" -- after repeatedly asking him to leave, and that the 27-year-old resisted when an officer attempted to handcuff him. Police used pepper spray, and Naanee still resisted.

"Don't you know who I am? I am an NFL player and I'm going to sue your ass," Naanee reportedly said as he was being arrested.

The 2007 fifth round draft pick was released later that day.

The Chargers released a statement expressing disappointment in Naanee, saying that they will "let the legal process run its course."
