Jon Stewart: CPAC Was A Roast (VIDEO)

The Huffington Post
First Posted: 02/16/11 09:55 AM ET Updated: 05/25/11 07:30 PM ET

On Tuesday night, Jon Stewart stepped away from his coverage of Egypt to focus on the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) held in Washington D.C. this weekend. Noting that last year's CPAC was dubbed the "Conservative Woodstock," it only took a few clips from Stewart to realize what this year's theme was: a comedic roast a la Comedy Central or Friars Club:

"This year it's a roast!" Stewart exclaimed. "Only with Barack Obama as their Pamela Anderson, and Socialism as their 'she was married to someone with a comically large penis.'"

One by one, from Mitch McConnell to Anne Coulter to Mitt Romney, Stewart analyzed the GOP's jokes about Obama, the left and the deficit as if they were real comedians. Let's just say, the veteran comedian in the picture was not too impressed with what they came up with. Particularly, Michele Bachmann's joke about China's Hu Jintao holding so much U.S. money that you could say, "Hu's your dadddy."

"OK, so now we know how you would tell a joke to kindergardeners or an English-as-a-second-language class, but neither of them are there!"

Check out the entire clip below to hear Stewart's take-down of all the worst CPAC jokes, including guest speaker Donald Trump's hilarious "set."

They have no clue how a budget gets written. They have no clue its the executive that puts forth a budget to congress as a request for funding for the executive branches various departments. Oddly enough they seem to believe that only democrats write budgets unless of course its the budgets put forth by the Clinton administration which actually reduced the deficit in which of course they believe in that instance congress suddenly started writing the budget. They also believe that welfare makes up the largest part of the budget rather than one of the smallest parts. They also believe that tax cuts create revenue for the government. Thats right a portion of a dollar you would have collected but didnt is going to magically grow larger than the original dollar and come back later as revenue. Hey they said it not me.

All of these people failed to realize the Bush failures as well as the Reagan failures, which is why this party will continue to be one big failure.

I can't think of anyone that is electable in that group. Their only chance is some newcomer, out of the blue. Charlie Cheen.

What's really funny is how easily he can pull out an Obama joke that trumps all the goper's who obviously take their delusion way too seriously.

Apparently, modern conservatism and a sense of humor are mutually exclusive traits.

I've been saying this for a while - teabaggers have absolutely no sense of humor. I think the part of the brain that perceives humor is used by them to perceive conspiracies. It would explain a lot....

You wanna know 'what's next?', Mitt? Try 'So be it'.

And why shouldn't republicans be removing the last remaining semblance to automatic stabilizers? After all, every American has Romneycare now. Or at least, could hope to somehow get it unless Romney's party won't allow that to happen.

Trump is a joke...

* Born with silver spoon
* Went bankrupt
* Lets partners, in bad deals, left holding the bag
* Divorced as many times as Rush
* Cheated on all his wives

Another great GOP'er!

This is the same kind of humor I came do dislike many many years ago when I bartended in college. The drunks who thought they were funny were my least favorite type of drunk. There humor was just like this, usually not all that funny, and almost always either directly mean or mean spirited.

I find their idea of humor to be derivative, shallow, and lazy.

Much like their policies.

Not to mention mean-spirited, insensitive and ineffective.

Conservative comedians? That will blend in nicely with some of the other oxymorons: military intelligence, jumbo shrimp, open secret, original copy, clean coal, dry lake and Republican Party :)
