LA County Fire Department Swears in First African American Chief

LOS ANGELES (KTLA) -- Daryl Osby became the first African American chief in the history of the Los Angeles County Fire Department Thursday at 10 a.m.

A 27-year veteran of the L.A.F.D and a top commander during numerous fire crises including the 2005 Topanga Fire and the California fire siege in 2003, Osby has said that his experience has well prepared him to head the some 4,400-person agency.
